finca brinca, meaning “the leap farm” is a farm in herradura & ceramics studio + vivero in lloroso de rivas.

our goal is to foster community utilizing sustainable & organic business practices.

a portion of your tuition funds scholarships for costa ricans to take free pottery classes.

introduction to wheel throwing class

$400 includes:

• four 4-hour classes over 4 weeks & unlimited

scheduled studio time for practicing

• use of imported studio equipment, wheels, & tools

• if you don’t continue to the glazing class, we will

glaze & fire your 4 favorite pieces for you

• first bag of clay is free, after that it’s $30 a bag

• week 1: throwing bowls

• week 2: trimming bowls & throwing mugs

• week 3: trimming mugs & throwing plates

• week 4: trimming plates & throwing vases

• option 1: saturdays 9am - 1pm (spanish & english)

• option 2: tuesdays 8am - noon (english)

introduction to glazing class

$400 includes:

• four 4-hour classes over 4 weeks & unlimited

scheduled studio time for practicing

• use of imported glazes & unlimited firings

• you can keep using class time and your free time to

throw more pieces

• first bag of clay is free, after that it’s $30 a bag

• week 1: what is glazing and how to apply

• week 2: reviewing first results & troubleshooting

• week 3: learning new glazing techniques

• week 4: reviewing second results & finishing pieces

• option 1: saturdays 9am - 1pm (spanish & english)

• option 2: tuesdays 8am - noon (english)

handbuilding for kids

$400 includes:

four 4-hour classes over 4 weeks for ages 10+
use of imported studio equipment & tools
use of imported glazes & unlimited firings

week 1: pinchpots and leaf pressing
week 2: animals, people, and flowers
week 3: luminarias
week 4: tiles & patterns

sundays starting april 16th 10am - 1pm

must have previous ceramic experience & meet with Karyn before membership approval

will follow the introduction to wheel classes. you will

• $400 for four 4-hour classes once a week

• no studio time available outside of class time

private 1:1 instruction

• $600 for 25 hours of lessons making what you request
